Micro teaching is organized practice teaching. The goal is to
give instructors confidence, support, and feedback by letting them try out
among friends and colleagues a short slice of what they plan to do with their
students. Ideally, micro teaching sessions take place before the first day of
class, and are videotaped for review individually with an experienced teaching
consultant. Micro teaching is a quick, efficient, proven, and fun way to help
teachers get off to a strong start.
Micro teaching is a
teacher training technique for learning teaching skills. It employs real
teaching situation for developing skills and helps to get deeper knowledge
regarding the art of teaching. I have practiced micro teaching with my group
members for about one and an half hour class. We have created lesson plan and
materials for teaching. The stages of the lesson are sequenced logically. From
my own teaching I understand that there is a strategy to plan a lesson and
relevant materials. There are certain aspects of the lesson plan, such as the
aim and outcome that help me focus on my lesson, as well as make sure that each
activity I have planned is relevant and effective.
